Last week, Lansing Empowerment Network had the powerful opportunity to attend the Empowerment Network’s Omaha 360 Wednesday meeting, and it was nothing short of inspiring.
The Empowerment Network model has been transforming communities for over 18 years. It’s more than just a framework, it’s a proven approach to systemic change that has guided everything we do at LEN. From building meaningful partnerships and developing youth-centered initiatives to creating coalitions and connecting systems, this model has shaped our mission and methods.
Seeing it in action in Omaha was a reminder of what’s possible when a community comes together around purpose and solutions. We were surrounded by changemakers, community leaders, and advocates who are deeply committed to sustained, intentional work. The conversations and insights shared during the meeting gave us fresh ideas, renewed energy, and a deeper sense of alignment with others doing this work across the country.
A special thank you to Willie Barney and the entire Empowerment Network team for welcoming us so warmly and showing us what true community empowerment looks like. Collaboration is the key, and Omaha 360 reminded us of the power of consistency, unity, and vision.
We’re bringing back valuable lessons to Lansing and are more motivated than ever to keep building, connecting, and empowering. Together, we’re not just imagining change. We’re creating it.
