Yesterday marked a big moment for Lansing 360. After a year of holding only virtual meetings, we hosted our first in-person Gun Violence Collaborative session, and the turnout was incredible. Over 100 community members showed up, face to face, ready to connect, share, and take action.
The energy in the room was undeniable. We heard from Lansing Empowerment Network President Michael Lynn Jr., Willie Barney of Omaha’s Empowerment Network, the Lansing Police Department, Mayor Andy Schor, and several dedicated organizations leading the charge on gun violence prevention and intervention in our city.
This meeting was a reminder of the strength we hold when we come together with purpose. Every voice matters, and every effort brings us one step closer to creating a safer, more unified Lansing.
You’re invited to be part of it. Lansing 360 continues to meet weekly on Zoom every Wednesday from 12 to 1 PM. You can also join us in person every second Wednesday at Foster Community Center, Room 213.
This work takes all of us. Let’s stay connected and keep showing up.
